WHO previously warned that a widespread outbreak was possible, and there were concerns of further transmission during China’s peak travel season around the Chinese New Year. Many New Year events have been called off for fear of transmission, including prohibited cities in Beijing, traditional temple fairs and other celebrations. The sudden increase in the incidence of the disease has raised questions related to uncertainties about its origin, wildlife trade, the spread of the virus and its potential to cause harm, Has the virus been circulating longer than before, and its likely outbreak is a super spreader phenomenon.

Coronavirus Outbreak: The first suspected cases were reported to the WHO on 31 December 2019, with the first instances of symptomatic disease appearing only three weeks earlier on 8 December 2019. On January 30, 2020, the spread of the corona virus was declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization , a type of emergency which is the sixth emergency after the 2009 H One N One by WHO .
